Human Health Student Team Places Third in Global Competition

The Human Health student team placed third in the 2023 Emory Morningside Global Health Case Competition using tools learned in the Human Health program.

Their case subject was to target Maternal Mortality in Haiti and they worked as a multidisciplinary team from different schools at Emory University. Using technological and innovative solutions, the team made sure not only to stay competitive against the other teams but to also build off of the local success of the community itself. Their intervention included partnerships with local vendors and businesses, whilst promoting collaboration with global partners itself. Their intervention involved developing 15 stationary clinics in the central plateau of Haiti, with access to testing kits and a maternal-oriented clinical examination room. They had access to prenatal supplements and safe drinking water, all powered by renewable energies.

Congratulations Team Emory!
