- Why did you choose your major/minor offered from the Human Health department?
I, like almost all Emory premeds, came to Emory as an aspiring NBB major. However, from my first lecture in HLTH 250, I knew the interdisciplinary aspect of Human Health was for me. In my time at Emory, my experiences and network have reinforced a passion and purpose for service and storytelling in medicine and media. From taking Health and Science Podcasting with Maya Kroth and News Writing with Maryn McKenna, the Human Health department has afforded me the chance to expand in those areas.
- If applicable, when you complete your major/minor from the Human Health program, what's next for you after graduation?
Upon graduating from Emory, I will begin my role as a medical assistant in a pediatric clinic as I apply to medical school.
- What advice do you have for someone considering a major/minor in Human Health at Emory?
- I would highly encourage anyone to consider this major/minor because it equips you for a plethora of fields.Take advantage of the diverse courses available and interact with the professors who are beyond supportive.
- What part of the Emory experience do you enjoy the most?
- When I reflect on my time at Emory, I will forever cherish the community and network I have built of research mentors, physicians, programs, professors, friends. I hope to maintain those relationships for a lifetime.
