Please list your major(s), minor, and/or concentration.
Major: Human Health
Minor: Nutrition Science

Why did you choose your major/minor offered from the Human Health department?

I chose the Human Health major because it allows me to explore a wide variety of disciplines while gaining a fresh perspective on the complexities of health. Through courses in preventative health, nutrition science, and clinical bioethics, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of the multifaceted ways health can be approached, from individual lifestyle choices to ethical decision-making in clinical settings. This interdisciplinary focus has broadened my knowledge and prepared me to think critically about health in diverse contexts. I'm minoring in Nutrition Science because as someone who’s interested in pursuing a career in orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation and sports medicine, nutrition plays an immense role in both recovery and prevention of injury. Learning about the impact of nutrition on overall wellbeing will also allow me to become a more well-rounded physician.

If applicable, when you complete your major/minor from the Human Health program, what's next for you after graduation?

After graduation, I'll be applying to medical school!

What advice do you have for someone considering a major/minor in Human Health at Emory?
My advice to someone considering a major/minor in Human Health would be to take as many different classes as you can! Taking classes in food and health, while also learning about subjects like biochemistry, human physiology, or qualitative research are parts of my academic experience that I look back on fondly.

What part of the Emory experience do you enjoy the most?
My favorite part of the Emory experience is its proximity to nature and the outdoors. I spent my first two years at Oxford College, and fondly look back on being surrounded by the trees and foliage that were throughout campus. Here in Atlanta, I've loved being outside in the academic quad, or going to places like Piedmont Park and Stone Mountain.
