Andrea Fitzroy, PhDAssistant Teaching Professor of Health Equity

Biography

Dr. Andrea Fitzroy holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Georgia State University, specializing in Gender and Sexuality. She also has a graduate certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University. She earned her MS in Human Resource Development from Florida International University.

Her current research is on intimacy, social relationships, health, and care in older adulthood.
Dr. Fitzroy’s teaching experience includes a variety of sociology and gerontology courses, including Aging & Society, Death, Dying & Loss, Diversity & Aging, Sociology of the Body, Sociology of Health & Illness, Introduction to Sociology, and Social Problems, among others.
