Andrea Fitzroy, PhDAssistant Teaching Professor of Health Equity
Biography
Dr. Andrea Fitzroy holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Georgia State University, specializing in Gender and Sexuality. She also has a graduate certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University. She earned her MS in Human Resource Development with a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution from Florida International University.
Her current research is on intimacy, social relationships, health, and care in older adulthood.
Dr. Fitzroy’s teaching experience includes a variety of sociology and gerontology courses, including Aging & Society, Death, Dying & Loss, Diversity & Aging, Sociology of the Body, Sociology of Health & Illness, Introduction to Sociology, and Social Problems, among others.
