The Class of 2023 has set the bar high. From an All-American scholar-athlete breaking NCAA records to a student who embraced the importance of art and science for health to a finalist on Jeopardy! High School Reunion Tournament to a scholar who filed a provisional patent for a novel drug treatment. We are truly in awe and so proud of you.

HONORS AND AWARDS RECIPIENTS

Cosette Drook received the CSHH award for Outstanding Leader which recognizes a student for the unique ability as an Emory undergraduate to guide and inspire others to make positive improvements for health. Cosette is majoring in Human Health with a minor in German Studies.

Carson Bohl received the CSHH award for Outstanding Scholar which recognizes students who have the demonstration of overall academic excellence throughout the Emory undergraduate experience. Carson is a double major in Human Health and Psychology. Carson also completed the Human Health honors program.

Vivek Lashkari received the CSHH award for Outstanding Innovator which recognizes the graduating senior who demonstrated creativity in thought and action leading to transformative improvements in health for the Emory community or beyond. Vivek is a double major in Business and Human Health and also completed the Health Innovation Concentration.

Nicole Felix-Tovar received the CSHH award for Outstanding Citizen which recognizes a graduating senior who has demonstrated a commitment to altruistic service focused on improving the health of others throughout the Emory undergraduate experience. In addition, Nicole has been selected to be the student commencement speaker. Nicole is a double major in Human Health and Anthropology and Human Biology.

Sandra Bourdon received the Emory College 2023 Marion Luther Brittain Award. The Marion Luther Brittain Award is presented each year to two graduating students (one undergraduate and one graduate) from any academic division of the University who are considered to have performed the most “significant, meritorious, and devoted service to Emory University.”

Considered the highest honor presented to a student by Emory University, Brittain recognizes two students whose contributions to Emory are outstanding. The award is made under provisions of a gift by the late Dr. M. L. Brittain, former President of Georgia Institute of Technology and alumnus of Emory.

The following students graduated with Highest Honors. Highest Honors (summa cum laude) represents completion of the program with exceptional performance in their coursework and a thesis of a quality suitable for publication.
